36 weeks and A Growing Family

As I get closer to my due date, I wonder how this new little person will fit into our family. I am really enjoying these three precious girls.

Will we add another girl to our family??

Will we have a boy that is completely different from what we know??

Obviously all my girls have different personalities and characteristics but a boy is just different. A good different, but one we may or may not ever get to experience! I am excited to find out!!

As we've watched over the last 3 years, Brynn and Camdyn have really grown to be the best of friends....Rylan has managed to squeeze herself into their duo. She is accepted, most of the time, and I know that it will get better and better as she gets older.

Here are pictures of my growing belly at 36 weeks, gaining a total of 30 pounds so far, I dare say that this will be my "biggest" pregnancy. (I gained 30 with Brynn, 22 with Camdyn, and 25 with Rylan). This pregnancy feels the biggest to me, in that my stomach sticks out further than any of the others did. I still Crossfit, and lately make all the male coaches extremely nervous that I am going to go into labor during their class!! I was 2-3 cm dilated, and 70% effaced at my 36 week appointment. I also had a sonogram and they predicted the baby's current weight at 6lbs 9oz!! I dare say that this could be my biggest baby as well...depending on when I deliver!! Baby was head down and we could see a little bit of hair on it's head. This baby reminded me of Rylan the way it was sucking it's lips (this is what Rylan does when she gets tired), so precious!! I am trying to soak in these last few days/weeks of pregnancy, as this is probably my last one!!

Mommy's prediction is a BOY!! That was my first "feeling".

Santa, Baby

We went to a birthday party and Santa made an appearance! All the kids were SO EXCITED!! Santa was so patient with all the kids, he was telling them about his magic keys and then read them some Christmas books. The kids were sure to ask him lots and lots of questions. Then they all got to sit on his lap and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. Both Camdyn and Brynn got a little flustered when it was their turn. Camdyn was speechless and couldn't even name one toy she wanted, Brynn told him she wanted Dora!! Dora?!? I mean sure she likes Dora, but not THAT much, that is not her number one favorite thing she would want for Christmas!! Rylan sat on his lap for the group picture and was a little unsure, but no tears were shed!

Halloween 2011

This year Brynn decided she wanted to be Leonardo, a teenage mutant ninja turtle, Camdyn was Cinderella, and Rylan a little witch. Since my girls love dressing up, halloween was right up their alley!! We had fun halloween activities: a halloween party with the cousins, fall festivals, trunk-or-treating, and trick-or-treating with friends!

Fall Fun

The girls and I went to the pumpkin patch in Boerne and I tried to get a few pictures of them with the pumpkins. Let's just say that trying to get a picture of all three of them looking at the camera and smiling at the same time is a little difficult!! Rylan is at the age where she doesn't want to sit still and I definitely can't make her, or even bribe her!!

Rylan was happier roaming the patch than posing for any pictures.

Kirby and I took the kids to Medina Pumpkin Patch, they had a wonderful time. They got to build their own scarecrows, enjoyed hay rides, barrel rides, a music show, an Indian show, and a petting zoo.

Brynn, the self proclaimed "animal lover", couldn't get enough of these animals. She kept going from pen to pen to pet all the animals, taking turns feeding and loving on them. Below is a picture of Camdyn after she fed the cow.....this is the first animal she fed, he slobbered ALL over her hand and she did not like it one bit!!! The cow slobber pretty much ruined her from feeding the other animals. Her face says it all....................

Brynn's 1st Day of PreK

Brynn has a summer birthday and just turned five, she could have gone into kinder this year but we decided to wait until next year to send her. She did start her first day of preK at FBC of Boerne! She goes twice a week, 9:30am-2:20pm and she really enjoys it!! Not that I had any doubt, I knew this rule following, eager to learn girl would love it. You would think having her gone two days a week would make it easier on me......it actually makes our life busier now that she is in school, not easier! We all have to be up and ready to go and actually be somewhere two days (on time!), plus my other morning when I go to bible study! Though it is weird on the days that I have only two kids....it feels like I am forgetting something!

In other news and pictures.......

This girl is still my most dramatic, expressive, best face maker ever! She has such a wonderful imagination. She loves to play dress up with her best friend Cami, loves to play with her little figures, loves to color/draw/write her letters, puzzles, and loves to read. She says some funny things and ask questions out of the blue, like the other day:
B: will I be young or old when I'm in heaven?
M: that's a good question, I don't know.
(after pondering it for a second)
B: I think I will be young.
She loves to talk and has some of the longest stories ever!

This little girl loves her blankie! I cannot even describe how sweet and happy she is all the time. She is my most 'go with the flow' baby ever, and as long as she has her blankie, she is happy! She also loves to suck on her upper lip when she is tired, it's oh so cute. She is all over the place, walking and running as fast as her little legs will take her!

Camdyn is sweet and tender hearted yet can be really stubborn at times. She is all girl, she loves makeup and all things lipstick or chapstick! She is all about fashion, loves dresses, shoes, boots, purses, and jewelry.....needless to say I think we will be in trouble come 10+ years!! She plays well with Brynn and plays well on her own too. Her most favorite princess is Cinderella. She asks lots of questions!! And she still loves her blankie to sleep.

The girls are now taking gymnastics class, they are in the same class (for my sanity) and one of their friends is with them as well! They really enjoy it....I don't know which they like more, going to class or wearing their leotards!!

The Halfway Point

It is hard to believe that I am halfway done with my pregnancy!! I am going to enjoy these last 19 weeks because this is more than likely my last pregnancy......I say that because it's my plan, the question is, does God agree??

We had our big ultrasound appointment and the baby looks good. Everything is as it should be, measuring a few days ahead of my official due date, weighing around 11 ounces. This little peanut was head up and he/she is pretty lazy compared to my girls. We are going to be surprised (again!).....I am expecting a girl but have a boy feeling. Does that make sense?? We have had our boy named picked out since we were surprised with Cami and since we haven't had to use it in the last 3+ years....... We are having a very difficult time with a girl name, I mean we have already had to decide on three of them!!! I bet we will wait until the baby is born and than decide.

I feel great, still continuing to crossfit and run a few times a week. I have gained 11 pounds at this point. Sleeping on my stomach is now very uncomfortable (it's hard to breathe) and laying on my back is out too!! I still feel so good that a lot of times I forget I'm pregnant, until I look down and see my big belly!

Baby #4!!! We love our kids so much, we decided to have one more!!! The newest Currie will debut around February 7, 2012. It is crazy to think that pretty soon we will be a family of six. Wow!! This little blessing was our first 'surprise', Rylan and baby will be a little bit closer than I would have liked to plan but our plan isn't always God's plan, right?! Mommy is 17 weeks and feeling better now. The first trimester was full of exhaustion, indigestion, nausea, and loss of appetite. Thankfully all that pretty much disappeared after 11 weeks. We will find out if it's a boy or girl at birth!

We spent the night at Brent's Grandpa Macnab's farm. The girls had fun running around, exploring, petting the horses, going on rides in the golf cart, and picking the biggest dandelions they have ever seen!!

We know how much our girls love Chuck E Cheese, we had to visit it in Canada!! This was Cruz's, Bria's, and Hazel's first time at CEC!!

Poor Bria started to cry right when we snapped the picture. She got one look at Chuck up close and personal and decided she did not like what she saw!!

O Canada, Part 1

We went up to Canada for three weeks to visit Brent's family and friends. We had a wonderful vacation, minus the plane rides with a wiggly one year old, and spent a lot of good family time. The weather was beautiful (mostly 60s) and I enjoyed wearing jeans, leggings, and hoodies without sweating!! You can actually go outside and play up there without dying of a heat stroke, amazing!! Everything was green, something we Texans don't know about in this drought!

We took a lot of walks, played in a lot of parks, and swam in a lot of awesome indoor pools. Cara and Hazel were also in town, the girls had fun playing with Hazel. Their boy cousins were very good sports, playing whatever the girls wanted to! The Waltzes came into town and we got to hang out with them a lot. Cruz asked Cami if she would be his girlfriend, so cute!!

We visited Discovery Wildlife Park, home of some famous movie star bears! We saw a black bear and grizzly bear performing some pretty cool tricks. They also had monkeys, tigers, jaguars, a beaver, and more.

We visited this little river two years ago when we were here, we did it again this year but it was much colder this time! The weather was maybe 70s but the water was freezing! Even Brent said it was cold. Rylan and Brynn only stuck their feet in, Camdyn was actually neck deep in it!

We went to an Antique and Tractor Show with Harry, he even had a table set up with his gun collection! The girls had fun going on train rides, wagon rides, pony rides, eating homemade cinnamon rolls, and more!

Happy Happy First Birthday to our sweet baby girl!! You are by far my happiest baby, you are content, always smiling or laughing. Most people comment on how you are so happy and they never hear you fuss or cry. You love to watch your sisters or laugh at the funny faces or things they do to you.

You did have a small period of time where I called you my high maintenance baby (4-6 months of age), I deemed you such because you are very particular on certain things. You never liked pacifiers, which was fine since you didn't fuss, you didn't really need one anyways. You only liked certain bottles (which is pretty HM for me)!

You love your blankie and love to suck on it when you go to sleep. You are such a good sleeper and LOVE to eat. Some meals you eat more than your big sisters!! You are walking all over and are my little climber. You can wave bye bye, love to do "So Big" and "Patty-cake", blow kisses, nod your head "yes", dance, fake burp and fake hiccup, and just be plain silly. You can say night night, no no, mama, dada, dog, all done, and baba. You weigh 22 lbs 7 oz and are 30 inches long.

You love to follow me around the house and would get into every toilet if I let you!! If I tell you "no ma'am" about something, you generally listen to me and turn around and walk away from trouble. You are not much of a water baby. Bath time is your least favorite part of the day and you get tired of the pool after a few minutes. You play really well on your own (if your sisters aren't around to bug you)!

Rylan, you are such a joy to us and we Thank God for you!! What a blessing you are to our family. I wish I could push a pause button right now because you are so precious but I know I will have such fun watching you grow. We love you so so much!!!

Like a true firstborn, you are a rule follower, people pleaser, tattletale, helpful to your siblings, and motherly. You have patience to help your sisters, even when sometimes they don't want your help! We call you Bugger because, well, you're bugging your sisters often! Camdyn is your best friend and you girls play dress up and imagination games all the time. You love movies, and like to role play movies, assigning everyone a character to play. You are our little actress, dramatic, and sassy! You like to keep your hair short and your favorite color is blue. You are an early riser, as soon as your eyes are open you are on the move and telling us a story. You are an animal lover but are scared of frogs and any bugs. You have the funniest giggle that would put a smile on any one's face. We love you Brynnie girl!!!

On your big day you wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese and wanted a Sonic cake. Mimi and Reid also celebrated with us at CEC but didn't make it in any of the pictures. You said several times throughout the day, "this is the best birthday ever!!"

San Angelo Reunion

Brent and I have wanted to go back to San Angelo to visit but with our busy life we hadn't made any plans, thank goodness his old hockey team had a reunion. It was the perfect weekend to go back and see our old friends!! We invaded Barb and Randy's home (thank you!!) just like Brent has done many times but now we brought our whole crew with us!!

A Princess Party

On Memorial Day we had Brynn and Camdyn's joint birthday party at our house. It was princess theme and everyone was suppose to come dressed in royal attire. There were about 25 kids, the castle was full!! The decorations were pink, pink, pink. When the kids first arrived they decorated crowns and tiaras with jewels and stickers. Then we played some games: Kiss the Frog, Pass the Poison Apple, Musical Thrones, and Princess Pinata.

I was really missing my friends, Jacqui and Danielle, from Michigan, so for my birthday Brent flew me up there for a quick trip. Rylan was the only one that got to come along for the trip since she is the only one to fly for free! This was her first plane ride and she did really well!!

The first thing on the agenda was some adult, girl time!! Out for some margaritas and lots of laughing!

The Big 3, With A Little Bit of Mother's Day

Sunday was a big day in our house, not only was it Mother's Day but also Camdyn's 3rd Birthday!! It was mostly about her, but seeing how happy and excited she was I wouldn't have it any other way. I think she was the happiest birthday girl I have ever seen!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Cami. You are the girliest girl of this all girl family, you love to wear dresses and all the accessories to go with it; shoes, purses, hats, and jewelry, the more the better! Your favorite color is pink, of course. You love to play with baby dolls and princesses, and you also love to dress up. You often ask us, "Do I look pretty?" once you are all dressed. And you have to wear a bow in your hair, it's a must. Brynn is your best friend, you two are constantly telling me "I only played with Brynn/Cami, she's my best friend".You love to help me around the house, whether it's helping me make dinner, doing laundry, or cleaning the house. You love to sing: in the car, in bed, while you are getting your hair fixed. I love to listen to your sweet voice. With your third birthday comes no more soothies at night and a big girl bed, you are officially a big girl now! You like to sleep in in the morning and lay in bed and cuddle after you wake up, at night you are my little night owl, talking to yourself in your bed. You are such a joy to this family. We love our sweet, stubborn, fun loving Camdyn.

All of my siblings and their children came into town Easter weekend. We went to Messiah's Easter Celebration on Saturday. They have games, crafts, petting zoo, barrel rides, pony rides, and an Easter egg hunt. This is the third year we have gone and the kids always have such a good time.

Later that night we went over to Mimi's house and the kids did confetti eggs. Uncle Jordan was a good sport.........

Happy 9 Months to my precious baby girl, Rylan! You bring so much joy to our lives with your infectious smile. You went from a high maintenance baby to a very content and happy baby. You love to eat, you now weigh 17 lbs and 11 oz (30%) and are 27 1/2 inches long (60%). You are very, very busy, getting into everything! When you get excited you kick your legs, you also like to blow raspberries.

Rylan is 8 months old now, weighs 15 lbs 14 oz, and has 8 teeth! Poor girl has the biggest gap between her two front teeth....it seems that all the Currie girls have gaps but Rylan has the biggest by far! She is crawling, pulling herself up, cruising, and getting into everything. She is at the age where she does not stay where you put her so it's difficult to get some things done around the house when she is awake. She sleeps 12hrs at night and naps twice a day. She is a really happy baby and while I have called her my "high maintenance" baby, she has gotten better as she has gotten more mobile. She enjoys her bath time when she gets the tub to herself. She is like a mother of three, quiet and alone time in the bathroom does not happen very often, but when it does she enjoys every minute of it!!! She has learned to give kisses............wet open mouth kisses, but does not always give them on command! She has a contagious smile and scrunches up her nose when excited and happy.

Meet Max, the newest addition to our place. We have been wanting to get a friend for Fezzik, and this poor abandoned dog needed a good home, so we gave him one. He is about 2 years old, a German Shepherd and Akita mix, he is very well mannered, calm, and good with the girls. The girls named him Max after Prince Eric's dog in The Little Mermaid.

February Finds Us..

in college station visiting Kirby before she has her sweet little baby! Boy or Girl, we can't wait to find out!! The girls and I timed our trip perfectly, Brent is at home with NO water!! It was
18 degrees when we left and it hasn't warmed up too much, so the pipes are still frozen. Poor guy. While he is stuck at home without water, the Apels took us to eat at Blue Baker. The more blue that you have on, the more free food you receive........

Little stinker is six months and weighs 13lbs 12oz (10%) & 26 in long (70%), Dr L says she would like her to gain some weight but she did get high marks for rolling, rocking, & moving all around. She is just now starting to like baby food at 6.5 months and will now finally take a bottle.....after some bottle training!! She now gets one bottle every night before bedtime. She has four teeth, two top and two bottom. She takes 2-3 naps per day and goes to bed at 7pm, wakes at 4am to eat, back to sleep, and up for the day around 7:30am or 8am.....there have been a couple of times where she slept 12 hrs....now that she is getting more food and calories throughout the day I am hoping that will be the new pattern!!

She can sit with a little support.

Isn't this the cutest hat you have ever seen?? Every time she wears it she gets a compliment and people always ask me where I got it. (Aunt Kirby gave it to her.) I think it must be the combination of the precious hat and the adorable girl!!

Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011

The biggest change around here is that the Curries are starting out 2011 in a new house! That's right, we sold our first home (sniff, sniff). Brent spends a lot of his days off from the fire department at his crossfit gym in Boerne, so it would be nice and convenient if we lived closer. We decided to put our house on the market and would only sell it if we made some money on it......well it sold in less than two weeks!! Thankfully my parents old house, the one I grew up in, is still for sale so we are living there for now until it sells or we find something else! The one draw back is we are not getting Internet hooked up there so I will probably not be able to blog as much as normal, please forgive me!!

Rylan is now five months old and quite the little stinker! She weighs 14 lbs 3 oz, has her two bottom teeth, rolls both ways, has finally started to like the car seat, won't take a bottle, and doesn't really like baby cereal or baby food. She reminds me a lot of Camdyn, both in looks and in personality, except I think Rylan is even more stubborn than Cami! Is that possible?!? Starting about a month ago Rylan went from being a great sleeper to the worst! At first I chalked it up to ear infections and teeth, but it's not getting any better. She is fine during the day, napping well but wakes up often at night. I have definitely met my match when it comes to crying it out!

Camdyn has graduated from her crib to a toddler bed! We made the change beginning of December and she hasn't looked back since. Brynn is finally interested in coloring and writing letters. Before I would ask her to write her name and she would just say, "I can't", without even trying. Now she will write her name all on her own.

We had a wonderful Christmas with friends and family. Here are some recent pictures:

Halloween

You know you have a house full of girls when you have Ariel (the little mermaid), Cinderella, and a ladybug for Halloween! As usual the girls had a chance to wear their costumes a couple of times this year. On the Wednesday before Halloween we went to my Aunt Becky's church to go trunk or treating, then on Friday we had a party with the girls' friends. On Halloween night we went trunk or treating (at another church) and topped it off with trick or treating around our neighborhood. The girls loved wearing their princess dresses and getting their hair sprayed. At first Ariel was nervous to get her hair sprayed red......so she made Cinderella get her hair sprayed with glitter first! The little ladybug wore her costume to some of the festivities, but on Halloween it was 87 degrees so she wore her spider shirt. Halloween in Texas, you never know what the weather will be like!!

Is there a pause button on Rylan that I can push?!? She is so darn cute and little and sometimes I want her to stay that way forever!! She doesn't talk back, or run away from me, and she lets me cuddle her whenever I want. Here she is at three months rolling over from belly to back already. No baby girl, don't grow up so fast!!!

The rolling to her back has messed up her sleep schedule at night. She was sleeping from 9pm-8am for two weeks but now she rolls to her back around 4am and cries because she can't get back to her belly yet!!

Things about Rylan at three months old:

She loves to stick her tongue out.
She hates the car seat, and I mean hate! When we are in the car, she is crying 90% of the time!
Wonderful sleeper! She usually goes to sleep around 9 pm and sleeps til 7:30-8am!! Mommy loves you!!
Happy baby with a sweet disposition (minus car time!).

Loves to smile and talk to anyone.

Yes I have been noticeably absent on my blogging.....it's been just a little bit busy around the Currie household. Hopefully I will be all caught up by the end of the week!! We have been fortunate enough to have Bumpa, Nana, and Grandma all come visit us in the same month!! With company and a new baby, comes a busy time filled with lots of action! My hands are usually full and I don't always have an extra hand to take as many pictures as I would like.....nor do I have extra patience to try to get the 'perfect' picture.

Two Months

Rylan is two months old, weighing in at 12 pounds 3 ounces and 22 1/2 inches long. She is a good, sweet baby, and loves her Mommy. Of course she loves her Daddy and sisters too but prefers the Mama. She is a wonderful sleeper, sleeping from 9:30pm til 6-6:30am. She likes to smile and coo, which just melts my heart! I love it when she is 'talking' to me and she gets so excited. She loves to stick her tongue out and gags when we put a paci in her mouth! I think we finally found one that she likes (Gerber nuk) but she is a pretty content baby and hardly needs it.

Sunday, September 5th, Rylan was baptized. We had a home baptism at Mimi's house and Uncle Mark was able to baptize her. Thanks to all our family who were there on that special day! We are blessed to be surrounded by such a loving and supportive family.

Rylan is 7 weeks and 12 pounds (according to my home scale), she smiled her first real smile at 5 weeks, and started sleeping through the night around 5 1/2 weeks (best baby ever!). She usually goes to bed around 10pm and wakes up to eat around 5/6am then goes back to sleep for a few more hours.

One Month

My baby is four weeks old!! Rylan is a pretty good baby, my one complaint is that some nights she thinks it's time to party at 1am! Some nights she goes back to sleep and than others she is wide awake from 1am until 3am. We definitely need to break this habit! She has more awake time during the day and is still a good eater....so good in fact that I got Mastitis! One night she slept for 7 hours straight, which is great for sleep but not so great for the engorged boobs. The next morning I could tell that I was starting to get mastitis (I have had it with all three girls). I called my doctor and received antibiotics hoping that I could kick it before it got bad but no such luck. That night I had all the flu like symptoms, fever 102.6, chills so bad I was walking around in my sweatshirt, sweatpants, and slippers! It was horrible! Thank goodness Brent was home to take care of things because I spent about 24 hours in bed.

We don't go back to the pedi til 2 months but according to my scale she weighs around 9 pounds. She has just recently outgrown the newborn clothes in length and took a pacifier for the first time just yesterday! She is filling out in her face and starting to fill out in the limbs...can't wait til she has some rolls! Whom does she look like?? Most people say she looks like me, time will tell.

Poor 3rd child doesn't get as many pictures taken of her....and also doesn't get as many baths! My sister, Kyle, and I were talking about the pattern of bath vs. what number baby you are. Here is our observation:
First baby-bath every night
Second baby-bath every other night
Third baby-bath every third night
Do we see a pattern here???

Here is a picture of Rylan during bath time. She really enjoys it and doesn't cry at all, maybe because she figures if she cries than she would never get one!!

My talented friend, Kristin, embroiders like a crazy woman (thank goodness we are friends because I benefit from this) and made the three girls these shirts. Brynn wearing her "Big Sister" shirt and Rylan wearing her "Little Sister" shirt. There is a "Middle Sister" around here somewhere but she would not sit still for a picture!!

She may be the third girl, but her sisters never had a fancy car seat cover like this!

I always knew Brent was an amazing father but this last month has re-affirmed that! He has been so wonderful with the two older girls taking them all sorts of places and just playing with them. Here they are fishing with Brynn proudly displaying her fish. Cami was holding hers at one point but the fish was flipping around, hit her in the arm, after that she wanted nothing to do with it!

The Big Cut

We took the girls to get their hair cut. Camdyn has never had her hair cut before, can you believe it?! Mainly because I did not want to cut her curls off. I fear that once they are gone they won't be coming back.....we just had her trim it for now. She did really well and sat very still, of course the promise of a sucker after she was done helped!

Brynn wanted to get her hair cut short like Mommy, she also has this fear of her hair getting so long it touches her bum bum. She was very happy with the new 'do and so is Mommy, it's cute, cool, and easy and fast to fix!!

Two Weeks

We went to Rylan's two week appointment yesterday and she is gaining weight, growing, and looks healthy. At birth she was 6 lbs 9 oz, at three days old she had dropped down to 6 lbs 4 oz & 19 1/2 inches, and now at two weeks she is 7 lbs 11 oz & 20 inches long! She is a sweet baby and hardly ever cries. She received her first "real" bath....as much as I could since her cord is still there (yuck)...and she didn't cry at all! What a change from our 2nd child (sorry Cami!)!! I just love holding her and could hold her all day long, it's nice to snuggle while she still lets me. And I just love her smiles and all the other faces she makes in her sleep. We are enjoying her because we know how fast they grow. Here are a few pics from this last week:

Rylan has only been a part of the family for a week but we couldn't imagine our family without her! She is such a good baby, basically eats and sleeps and hardly cries. She lets Mommy get a lot of sleep at night which I am very thankful for! She eats about every 3 1/2-4 hours during the day and has longer stretches at night. She has some quiet awake time during the day where she just looks around and checks things out. Brynn loves to kiss on her and hold her. Camdyn will give her a kiss every now and then but basically goes on with her business as usual.

The best swaddle blanket ever....maybe this is the secret to good sleeping??

As for the details......July 19th started as any other Sunday: Church, breakfast, Costco, nap, dinner....it was 9pm and the girls were in bed and I was shaving my legs when I felt like my underwear was wet. So I finished shaving my legs, jumped into the shower and then assessed the situation a little more. No big gush, just a little leaking (just like when my water broke with Camdyn). So I went out into the living room and told Brent, "well you better put a shirt on because I think my water just broke." "WHAT?!? Seriously??" is his response. As some of you may know Brent had a timeline when Rylan could be born and this was not it...she was suppose to wait until he started his time off of work, this friday the 23rd was his last day for a few weeks.....OOPS!

So anyways off to the hospital we go. I was having some contractions but nothing serious yet and I didn't want to wait too long because Cami was born in about 3 hours so I thought time was of the essence...........boy was I wrong!

It was a long slow night, early morning.....I pretty much stayed dilated at 3-4 cm all night long and almost all day long!! My contractions would start being regular and get into a good pattern and then they would space out, they were very inconsistent. They started pitocin around 5:30am to get the contractions on a regular pattern but not much dilating going on. Finally at 1:45pm my Dr came in and ruptured the rest of my membrames and I was 4 cm at this time. Fourty five minutes later I felt intense pain and pressure so I called the nurse in and I was a 7. Fifteen minutes later I couldn't take it anymore so back in our nurse came and I was complete and ready to push. After everything was set up and Dr. Hedges was in place I pushed for about 15 minuts and there she was, perfect in every way!!

Rylan Olivia Currie was born July 19th at 3:15pm, 6 pounds 9 ounces, 18 3/4 inches long.

We had to stay 24 hours from her time of birth so they could check her bili, once we got the all clear we were on our way home. When we were in the hospital the girls really didn't want anything to do with Rylan. Cami was like "whatever" and Brynn was so nervous....she was afraid to come too close to her and she did not want her to cry at all. After being home about 30 mintues Brynn started warming up to her and now she wants to kiss and sit right by her.

Home sweet, busy home!! It's back to reality here but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Fun Four

On July 5th Brynn turned FOUR! As most of you know, Brynn did not want to turn four. Every time she heard us talking about her birthday or being four she would say, "I'm not four, I'm three." Well she had no problem on her birthday.....this little rule follower must have just been waiting until it was official.

Brent had to work the day of her birthday so as soon as she woke up she got to open her presents! That morning we met some of her friends and the Montalbos to see the Chipmunk movie. For dinner we went to Chuck E Cheese (which she loves and is obsessed with the mouse) with Mimi, the Montalbos, Uncle Jordan, & Uncle Wade.

All in all, it was a wonderful birthday. Presents, a movie, popcorn, pizza, games, princess cupcakes.......what more could a four year old ask for?!

36 weeks

36 weeks of pregnancy..........the light at the end of the tunnel....you know you are getting close to holding that sweet baby girl in your arms! 36 weeks also means that I start going every week to my OB and my first internal exam (joy oh joy!). It's one of those things where you want to know if your body is getting ready for baby (even if it is slightly uncomfortable for a minute), but you also don't want to get your hopes up. We all know that you can walk around dilated for the next 4 weeks or you can go from 0 to baby in a day! So my stats for my 36 week appointment: measuring 31 cm, 80% effaced, and 1-2 cm dilated.....and I'll get back to you on the weight gain as I had a 2 pm appointment and I told Dr. Hedges it should be a rule not to weigh in after 10 am. And since we are talking about weight.......

Some of the lovely comments I have heard lately:

"You look like you're about to POP"

"Wow, you've really blossomed"

"Do you think this is your biggest pregnancy?"

Do people honestly think that these phrases are compliments?!?

Yes I do know my belly is big and I do know I am getting close to delivery, but could you phrase it a little differently please?

Is it acceptable, that just because I am pregnant, people can talk so openly, freely, and rudely about me?? I am going to start walking around telling people what I think about their big body parts......whether they are pregnant or not.

34, a car, and a Name

34 weeks pregnant, 6 to go! The 'average' baby is now 4.7 pounds and just shy of 18 inches long!! Went to see Dr. Hedges today, all is well. Haven't changed since two weeks ago, still measuring at 29 and no weight gain.....guess the popcorn and M&Ms I ate last night haven't caught up to me yet!! He said I am "growing a small baby" but I think she'll be around 7 pounds.....time will tell!! And this might be my third pregnancy but there's always a first time for everything.....for the first time my belly button might pop out to an outie....it's getting very close. And Brent nicely pointed out that I have the pregnancy waddle down, thanks honey.
Actually it went something like this:
B: I noticed you walk pigeon toed with your toes pointing out.
A: yeah it's called waddling. thanks.

It's a very nice ride, much roomier and bigger than my old car....which is obviously the reason we got it. The girls like it because it has a DVD player in it, of course!!

Picking Peaches

Kyle and I took the kids to Fredericksburg to Marburger Orchard to do some peach picking. After my first experience I have learned a few things:

get there when they first open at 8am......we didn't and it was HOT
peach picking is fun but for really young kids I would stick to strawberries, most of the peaches the young girls could reach weren't ripe enough to eat so Kyle and I did most of the picking up high
picking peaches makes you itchy, dirty, sweaty, and hot. it's hard work.
peaches take about 5 days to ripen
leave them on the counter, don't refrigerate
fresh picked peaches are so YUMMY!!! I had four at lunch time today....I can't help it, they are so juicy and sweet.
We filled up one of these boxes below and it only cost $30! Which you can easily split between three families.
To fill one of these boxes to overflowing, it takes about one hour.
